EXPERTISE
Profile
Hans Fredrik is research manager for the section Catchment Biogeochemistry. Research interests and scientific expertise include chemical interactions of pollutants, specifically focusing on inorganic chemicals and plastic, and the processes involved in transportation of these contaminants in the natural environment. Thematic areas that has been important parts of my research and monitoring projects are how contaminants are affected by atmospheric deposition, climate, and different biologocal and chemical factors. I have several times been used as an expert on mercury pollution by the Norwegian government in their work with the Minamata Convention. I have led several large projects with large teams of scientists, including national monitoring programs, international and national research projects, aid funded projects in Asia, and projects funded by industry partners. My project experience includes work in Arctic (Svalbard, Canada), sub-Arctic (Northern Norway, Sweden, Finland), Boreale (Southern Scandinavia) and Tropical (Myanmar, Indonesia, ASEAN) areas.
