Marta Moyano is a researcher in Oceanography at NIVA and adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Agder. She has more than 15 years experience working at the interface between marine ecology, ecophysiology, oceanography, and aquaculture, using a multifaceted approach (laboratory experiments, field sampling and numerical models). She has a unique, versatile profile, including extensive experience in i) designing and conducting field sampling during short- and long-term boat surveys, as well as laboratory and mesocosm experiments, ii) running physiological and behavioral measurements in marine organisms, especially small-sized ones (e.g. fish eggs/larvae, copepods, snails), iii) investigating predator-prey interactions through field and laboratory experiments, iv) zoo- and ichthyoplankton taxonomy, and v) quantitative and computational tools (mainly in R). She is well networked in Europe and worldwide, and is actively involved in several EU and nationally-funded projects (e.g. Norway, Germany, Spain). She has extensive experience in teaching and supervising BSc and MSc students, as well as PhD students and PostDocs. Dr. Moyano has more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has been an invited speaker at international conferences and seminars.
