With the planet reckoning with the effects of climate change, kelp and seaweed may provide an answer. Scientists know that kelp and seaweed contribute to blue carbon, CO2 that's absorbed by the ocean. But how much carbon do these macroalgae actually take out of the atmosphere? During OceanXplorer's recent mission to Norway, researcher Chris Lindemann came on board to investigate kelp's path from the shallows to the deep sea, using everything from drones, to scuba diving, to our ROV.
