Sammendrag

The migratory behaviour of moose cause severe management problems in certain areas. High densities of moose located close to traffic arteries and young forest stands often cause vehicle accidents and forest devastation during winters with heavy snowfall. In this study we demonstrate how supplemental winter feeding influences the spatial distribution of browsing activity, and thereby forest devastation and traffic accidents. We also discuss factors that are associated with frequent moose utilisation of feeding stations.
