Summary
The research aimed to generate data on the abundance of antibiotic resistance genes (ARG) in WWTP effluents and in the receiving water body. The contribution of ARG discharge to ARG in the recipient was estimated by using mass balances. Several scenarios were simulated, including different WWTP treatment effectivities at various river flow rates.
