Population statistics and sub‐districts in River Basin Districts ‐ Facilitating data for use in water management

Summary

Population statistics on a 250 x 250 m grid is maintained by Statistics Norway. In this report, population statistics are assigned to the smallest official catchment areas in Norway (“Regine units”) and sub‐districts of the River Basin Districts. NIVA recommends to publish these processed datasets in the “Vann‐Nett” portal in order to ensure availability for water managers. The distribution of residents and the total number of residents in sub‐districts of the River Basin Districts population number is presented on maps attached to this report.
