Investigative monitoring of watercourses in connection to the larvikitt quarries in the Larvik area. Results from benthic algae and macroinvertebrates 2015

Summary

According to the permissions of the various larvikite quarries and landfills in Larvik, these industries must develop monitoring programs and comply with these to assess the effects of their emissions to the recipient water bodies. The purpose of this project has been to map the effects of emissions from the stone industry in 2015 on benthic algae, heterotrophic organisms and macroinvertebrates in recipients around Krukåsen, Klåstad and Saga Pearl quarries and Brattås landfill, according to the respective monitoring programs. The recipients are spatially compared with selected reference sites and the results are temporally compared with similar studies from 2014.
