Summary
Continuous measurements of turbidity in the surface layer through an entire year show that the particle concentration is low at a station located about 700 m from the bay where Norsk Stein discharge particles. On some occasions the monitoring buoy may over a period of a few hours record passing particle “clouds” having particle concentrations of typically 5 to 10 mg/l. There is no risk that elevated particle concentrations will appear at the aquaculture farms nearby (Austbø or Vintravika).
