Small streams in the Trondheim region, Norway. Results from the 2013 macroinvertebrate monitoring studies and ecological status assessment
Summary
This report summarizes the 2013-results from the monitoring study of the macroinvertebrate communities in smaller streams in the Trondheim municipality. The results are part of Trondheim Department of Environment’s annual monitoring program of the ecological quality in their water resources. 35 samples from study sites in 18 different streams were collected, and ecological status was classified based on the ASPT- index. 12 stations achieved the environmental objective "good ecological status". One stations achieved a "high ecological status", referring to a pristine reference condition for aquatic habitats. 11 stations were classified to "moderate ecological status", having less deviation from the target environment. 11 stations were considered to have large deviations from the expected environmental objective, classifying them to either “poor” or “bad” ecological status.
