Framework agreement with the Ministry of Climate and Environment for climate and environmental expertise

NIVA is part of a consortium that has won an exclusive framework agreement for climate and environmental knowledge for the Ministry of Climate and Environment (KLD) for 2023-2025. CICERO coordinates the consortium, and other partners include the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA), NILU, the Norwegian Institute for Cultural Heritage Research (NIKU), the Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy (NIBIO), Menon Economics, Sintef and Holth&Winge. Together, these organisations have extensive experience of policy development and processes, and have contributed tools and expertise to climate and environmental policy both nationally and internationally. 

KLD has emphasised that the consortium collectively covers all scientific disciplines along the entire climate and environmental spectrum, and that we have experience from a number of interdisciplinary projects.

Furthermore, they have emphasised areas of expertise such as the development and implementation of policies related to the environment, climate and green transition, both in Norway and internationally, as well as experience from policy development, analysis, methodology and knowledge production.

Key call-offs in this project will include knowledge needs related to the preparation of reports to the Storting on Norway's implementation of the Nature Agreement and the Climate Agreement.
