NIVA opens office in China
Minister of Climate and Environment, Vidar Helgesen, will take part in the opening ceremony, that will be followed by a special seminar on plastic waste and microplastics pollution.
NIVA is the leading research organization for water and related environmental issues in Europe, headquartered in Oslo, Norway. NIVA has been working in China since 1995, with projects covering a wide range of environmental issues, including international convention implementation, national policy consultation, regional environmental management system development and local water quality improvement.
- We see an increasing demand for advanced solutions to global environmental challenges and at the same time fast development of both high-quality science and innovative green technologies. NIVA’s China office has great strategic meanings for NIVA’s global competence and we look forward to prosperous collaboration with Chinese research institutions, says NIVA managing director Greta Bentzen.
Research director Thorjørn Larssen, NIVA, also emphasized that the China office will deeply engage in the Chinese R&D on green technologies and share Norwegian green solutions in a joint effort to combat the environmental pollution challenges in China.
- We are happy to be the bridge between Norwegian and Chinese research organizations to enhance the collaboration on environmental issues between the two countries, says NIVA China office manager Yan Lin.
