Hans Nicolai Adam is an economist by training with a PhD in Development Studies (2015) at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. Presently, Hans is working as a senior researcher at the section of International Environment and Development with the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) in Oslo, Norway. His research interests encompass a variety of interdisciplinary themes that concern climate change adaptation, plastic pollution, science-policy interphase, knowledge politics and urban governance. Hans has published widely in this field and has a keen interest in furthering North-South collaboration. Hans is leading and contributing to several international collaboration projects (geographically in EU/Norway, India, ASEAN, Myanmar) that engage with research questions and capacity building on issues of environmental sustainability (e.g marine pollution), climate change and knowledge co-production. In addition, Hans actively communicates research issues through popular scientific articles and has extensive teaching experience at the Bachelor and Master level within the fields of development theory, climate change and environmental sustainability.
