Profile
Dr. You Song is an experienced researcher with expertise in both experimental and computational toxicology, toxicogenomics, in vitro high-throughput screening, biostatistics and bioinformatics. He has been working on animal alternatives, such as in vitro screening, high-content Omics and computational modeling since 2007. He has been actively involved in OECD’s AOP development program for more than 10 years and has developed more than thirty AOPs, with two endorsed by the OECD WPHA/WNT, and many under active development. He is a recognized AOP development coach and a member of the Thyroid Method Expert Group (TMEG) at the OECD. He is an editorial board member of the peer-review journal Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry. Dr. Song was a recipient of Research Council of Norway’s Young Researcher Talent Grant in 2019 (grant No. 301397) and has extensive experience in project management. He has established networks across Europe, China, Japan and USA.
His main competence and research interests are: (eco)toxicology, OMICS, bioinformatics, biostatistics, Adverse Outcome Pathways (AOP), mixture toxicity and multiple stressors, alternative approaches to animal testing, high-throughput screening, hazard and risk assessment of pesticides, veterinary medicines, pharmaceuticals, metals, radionuclides, radiation and emerging contaminants.
